The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) has scheduled two distinct productions to anchor the late summer months. The venue will stage its own production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Drama Theatre from July 28-29, 2026. This will be followed immediately by the Chinese musical The Picture of Dorian Gray, which runs from July 30 through August 2, 2026, according to recent performance schedules.
Building on these performances, the Beijing Performing Art Center is set to host the London West End original musical Matilda. The production, which celebrates 15 years on stage, will premiere in the city for a run scheduled from August 7-23, 2026.
International Theatre Festival Traditions

The Beijing People's Art Theatre International Theatre Festival has established a framework for global collaboration, notably exemplified by the 2025 event which ran from October 13 to November 26.
